Pancake Tuesday:

Junior Infants and Senior Infants have been revising our pancake/pancóga vocabulary in Irish for Pancake Tuesday. We had great fun singing Irish songs about making pancakes on Pancake Tuesday. Our new vocabulary includes the following:

Pancóga: pancakes (pan ko ga)

Siúcra: sugar (shoe cra)

Líomóid: lemon (lim ode)

Im: butter (im)

Plúr: flour (plure)

Uibheacha: eggs (Iv aka)

Bainne: milk (Bon ya)

Seacláid: chocolate (shock- law-d)

Friochtán: frying pan (fruk tawn)

Pláta: plate (plaw ta)

Oscailte: open (us kill ta)

Dúnta: closed (dune ta)

Delicious pancakes were enjoyed by all on Pancake Tuesday and our Infants wrote pancake recipes in our SESE copies to remind us of the fun we had!
